I have been a gamer since I was 5 years old with Pong. I advanced from Atari 2600 to Commodore 64 to sega Genesis advancing to sega cd to 32x, then I was one who was surprised to picked up Sega Saturn. I picked up a N64 and then I went to the Playstation. I then got Married in 1999 and got a sega Dreamcast sometime in 2000. The system really sucked, so I got rid of it pretty quickly. I was one of the lucky ones to get the PS2 on opening day. I remember when EBgames was cool and I preordered the PS2, Madden and NHL and I recieved it on opening day(after I got home from a business trip- I didn't forgive work for sending me out of time during the PS2 release. Well, after dumping my dreamcast I picked up an xbox brick. The system didn't wow me but some games like Halo were really cool and were enjoyable but pretty much equaled my excitement and playing on the PS2. Then it came time for the next gen.I didn't preorder a 360 but I was able to get one from circuit city 2 weeks after it's release and I sold it on ebay a few days later for a nice Christmas bonus. :-) I was able to pick another 360 up in January and I took it home and to my surprise the red ring of death was there to greet me. I took it back to the store and had to wait to find another one. I then found a core system and bought the parts that I needed through towns. I really enjoyed the system but I was constantly freezing during some gameplay which was really frustrating. When the Wii and PS3 came out I heard from an EBgames that I could reserve a Wii early and it was really funny that they said it would be harder to find a PS3 then it would be to find a Wii. I didn't trust that so I preordered it. I went on opening night picked up my Wii and put it in my closet for the kids for Christmas but I was still not happy because I wanted a PS3. One day I was in a EBgames and a clerk told me that they had some PS3s that just went into stock and I could get one now if I wanted. I said YES and quickly went home and sold my 360 on ebay. Best move I ever made, yes it's true that I have been lacking in certain next gen games that I could be playing with the 360 but the PS3 has kept me very happy, I just now long for my HDTV. On a happy note, the kids are happy with the Wii.

Yes, Happy friday, 4 hours till I start my weekend. :-)
I am fellow pitfall player, not as good as I used to be. I do all of my gaming now in this century with the PS3 and Wii but always enjoyed games like Pitfall and River Raid from my old days playing the 2600. I bought qbert on the PS3, hopefully they can put Pitfall and riverraid and put it on there, I'd spend the $5 on them again. I bought some of those old direct to TV controllers where you can play old time games on the TV but would enjoy playing them on the PS3 instead. There is nothing to be ashamed of playing oldtime games. Take it easy and enjoy your friday.
