Hometown:
Chicago, IL
Country:
USA
About Me:
One time, when I was like six, I won a fish at a carnival by throwing a ping-pong ball into its bowl. Not much has happened since then to mention, really.
Relationship Status:
Single
Favorite Games:
Rome: Total War, Romance of the Three Kingdoms series, Monster Hunter series, Elder Scrolls series, Fatal Fury series, and the King of Fighters series are some that immediately spring to mind. And mahjong games (of all kinds), obviously. *Real* mahjong mind you, meaning not the tile matching game popular in the US. I'm talking "You did NOT just Ron off of my Reach tile, you jerk!" mahjong. =3
Favorite Music:
Anything and everything, with the exceptions of country and most opera. "Judy and Mary" is my favorite band of all time. Don't worry -- nobody else has heard of them, either.
Favorite TV Shows:
Mystery Science Theater 3000, Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Family Guy, Densha Otoko, Macross 7
Favorite Movies:
VERSUS, Lord of the Rings Trilogy, and pretty much any B-movie.

Shooting yourself in the head = high quality entertainment! =D

With all of the next and new-gen filling up our entertainment centers, it can be really easy to forget about the PS2, even if some of the greatest games to ever grace the system have been coming out lately.

Another gem was just recently released in the form of Persona 3 (or "Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3" if you like long titles). I didn't see this game getting very much attention either before or after its release (despite some very good reviews), so I thought I'd do my own small part… Continue

Japanese Language Study Resources

(* Note: This was originally going to be a post in the Japan Group's forum, but the post ended up (I'm assuming) being to long, causing the forum to fall down go boom when I tried submitting it. I figured I'd just toss it up as a blog post instead.)

Peter Petrelli's post on Japanese Pod 101 kinda inspired me to make this post. I've been studying Japanese for a while now and have used nearly every self-study resource out there. One of the hardest things about learning

Complete with first-person puking

The recent list of newly backward compatible games for the 360 has quite a few gems in it; much more so than usual. While most people are probably looking at titles such as Jet Set Radio Future, Soul Calibur 2 or MechAssault 2, there was one that caught my eye and made me blink in silent disbelief at the computer monitor before me.

That title (get ready to say, "Huh?") would be Breakdown.

Yeah, Breakdown. I had never heard of

Old School Nerdage (now more accessible!)

While not being directly related to video games (although there have been more than a few Middle-earth themed games over the years, particularly since the Lord of the Rings movie trilogy), I think the release of the book The Children of Hurin by JRR Tolkien is very much worth mentioning, especially since there are a lot more Tolkien fans around now than there were prior to the films and (newer) games.

While a lot of people saw the movies and were content, quite a few took an i

Another EDF 2017 Review

(*note: I typed this up in notepad and came to the community to add it...and saw that Scot beat me to a review! Since I rarely ever update, I figured I'd toss it up anyway. Sorry for the redundant content. =3 )

Many, many moons ago, I ordered an import game from my importer of choice. This game turned out to be much cheaper than I thought it would be since it was on sale, so I found myself in a position we all love to be in: browsing through a video game section with money to bur
