Reviews and Impressions groups up. Please acknowledge.

Yeah, so I put up a couple of groups for in depth game reviews & impressions of things you've been playing a bit ove, want to talk about, but don't feel you've experienced enough to do a full reveiw of. Good for demos you've played as well. I've seen a lot of posts on the main page about what you've been playing & thought this would be a good way to let the news posts get better exposure on the main page while giving a better home for the reviews and impressions where they can hang lo

Well, Missile Command is up. Anyone buy it yet?

5 bucks isn't bad, especially taking the evolved mode into account, but I personally haven't bought it yet. I DL'ed the trial & have to say that it's pretty damned fun in both modes. The only Missile Command experience I ever had was with my Atari 2600 when I was a little kid. Having only the one button controller, I never knew that you'd be able to fire from multiple points. It added depth and strategy to the game that I'd previously been ignorant of. For some reason, I seem to remember hea… Continue

Metroid Prime 3 Rocks the 80's boxart released!

I don't really have anything compelling to say about this as that it's just boxart and trying to anylize a game based on it's boxart is just silly to me. The reason I DID post it is because the faded versions of Samus in the picture remind me of those stylish class photos I could get when I was a ki

This just in... Utter pussy buys horror game, wonders if he'll ever finish first chapter.

Yeah, I guess I haven't told you people about my problem. I am afflicted with the ironclad nerves of a chihuahua. The smallest thing makes me jump like a girl and screech twice as loud. I absolutely abhor 90% of all horror movies. Please, let me be clear, this has nothing to do with fear, I am, after all an utter pussy. Not yet a colossal pussy. I'm not "scared" of the content of horror movies/games. My problem is my nerves. Since, in the last decade or so, horror movies have transitioned fro

Xbox Live Arcade... Now coming to Nintendo WII!!!

http://blog.newsweek.com/blogs/levelup/archive/2007/06/26/level-up-exclusive-on-nintendo-wiiware.aspx

Looks like Nintendo is announcing what we all knew was coming. On Wednesday, Nintendo announces WiiWare a service separate from Virtual Console that will be accessed via the Wii Shop channel. The article claims that, much like XBLA & the PSN before it, Nintendo will b

3rd party HDMI cable for non-elite Xbox360

I saw this over at Joystiq.

http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/25/third-party-hdmi-cable-coming-for-non-elite-xbox-360/

Obviously, this is concept art, but a company by the name of XCM is claiming that in four weeks time, they

List of slang terms for game instances you have with your friends.

One of the things I dig the most about playing with friends is coming up with our own slang-terms for things in games. I'm not sure this has exactly caught on in the community, but a good one I heard a while ago was that a listener was playing against Scot in Gears of War. Every time Scot was killed, this person (sorry, I don't remember who) had the famous Price is Right losing sound bound to a device on his controller that would hold a few soundbytes.

Here's a list of a few I have wit

Game addiction to be classified as actual disorder? (Come see Razorburn lose it here!)

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19354827/#storyContinued

To be filed, yet again, under "It's not us as parents, it's you damned videogames!", a report prepared by "a leading council of the nations largest doctors' group" has been submitted to the American Medical Association's annual policy meeting starting Saturday in Chicago. This report would ask that videogame addiction be included in a widely

So, apparently Bioware chose "Dare"

One can only assume that during the Truth or Dare game at the big Sleepover party at Nintendo's house, Bioware has been subjected to the equivallent of spending five minutes alone in the closet with Sega.

Kotaku was sent this press release announcing that Bioware would be working on a Sonic the Hedgehog based

Kaz to gamers: 380 games in 12 months. Gang signs and "EASTSIDE!" unconfirmed.

In a move that smacks of bullshit, Sony Computer Entertainment president Kaz Hirai claimed to bring this astronomical number of games to the PS3 by the end of the company's financial year in March 2008.

http://www.gamespot.com/news/6172868.html?action=convert&om_clk=latestnews&tag=latestnews;title;2

Kaz promises a whopping 200 retail games, and

Good luck losing that Kiddy image, Nintendo.

So in a move that should surprise no one, Nintendo made it clear that they will not allow the AO rated Manhunt 2 to be released on the Nintendo Wii.

In an email sent to Kotaku, it was explained:

"Games made for Nintendo systems enjoy a broad variety of styles, genres an

The end of the Red Ringed Tunnel?

Apparently new Xbox360's are getting heatsink upgrades in an effort to combat the ever-sodding Red Rings O' Death. And, if this YouTube vid posted on the 12 is to be believed,

Interview with Mike Patton on voicing "The Darkness".

http://www.destructoid.com/destructoid-interview-the-voice-of-the-darkness-mike-patton-32615.phtml

Cute little interview, especially if you're a longtime fan of the former Faith No More singer and Man of a Thousand Projects as I am. Apparently he's also doing "zombie sounds" for Left 4 Dead. Seems like a pretty good fit to me.

O Sheogorath, Where Art Thou?

Yesterday had to be one of my worst gaming days ever. Oblivion has been one of my most favorite games in probably the last decade or so. To date, I've logged somewere in the range of 150 hours of gameplay. Lately, I've been working through the Shivering Isles expansion. I've really been enjoying it. Some of the quests are sub-par, but the ones that shine really make up for it. So, I'm about three-fourths of the way through the main campaign on a mission to find some twisted magi/scientist wom

How are actual journalists able to hold back under embargo?

Yeah, so, first post and all. What I wanted to talk about is that, a couple of weeks back, I was able to see some very top-secret content with regards to Fallout 3. I saw things that, I can only assume, any real gaming journalist would suffer having to hold back. I know that a major publication (EGM or GamePro, I can't remember which one) came in the day previous to when I saw it. I remember Scot and Redmond talking about something they saw at the recent Sony game day that they claimed would be… Continue
