The Wii is fun, but it may put me on the DL

Ok here is the thing. My beautiful bride to be works nights and sometime goes to the store before she comes home to pick up a few things. Well this time when she came home she ran upstairs to where I was deep into my dream where I am with Mario and we are getting ready to get King Koopa and says, "They have a Wii at the store should I go get it?" I immediately awaken. I am very sensitive to when she mentions anything gaming related and I asked her to repeat what she said. Since I have never seen a Wii in the wild I wasn't really sure that they existed. I told her that I have never seen one and is she serious about getting one. She hesitates and I don't. I immediately tell her to go back to the store to see if it is still there. I am very aware that Wiis are like leprechauns and most people never see them and if you do see one you may never see one again.

She makes it back and low and behold she has a Wii with her. It is a gaming miracle. I proceed to set it up. By this time I should be getting ready for work, but I am not. I have to fire this thing up.

I pop in Wii sports and begin to play. I do the bowling and the tennis and everything is going great. I then try baseball. The batting is really fun and I am looking forword to a sim baseball game in the future. The probelm is when I pitch. Since I used to play basball I try to pitch like I was Satchel Page. That is when it happens. I fell a very sharpe pain in shoulder. The joint where my arm pivots at the shoulder. I think that it is bone on bone. Maybe this is something that I have had for a long time, maybe not I am not sure. All I know is that I cannot do the throwing motion when I play the Wii. I am not sure if I should put myself on the DL since it only hurts when I pitch. Don't worry though I am getting some experts opinions. I have emails out to Kerry Wood and Mark Prior. I know that they will know what to do.

Even though I may have to go on the Wii disabled list. I still really enjoy the Wii and my family has really enjoyed playing together. I hope this system will bring fun times for us. I know that my fiancee and I had a blast last night. After a few cold ones I asked her to do her Wii fitness age. She did ok on the first thing, but when she was playing tennis she kept moving towrd the TV and I would laugh more and more because she would move her feet to try to run after the ball. I totally lost it when she fell on the floor because she crossed her feet, but she kept flipping the Wii-mote around hoping that her Mii would hit the ball.

All in all I really enjoy the Wii and for the time being I will answer to ediddy as well as Wiididdy.

What i find funny is how ppl get so into Wii Sports that they are ready to throw their arm out trying to pitch in Baseball... when you can just jerk the wii-remote lightly and still throw a fastball. Obviously doing it that way is less fun but it's still interesting that in the name of fun ppl are willing to hurt themselves. It's kind of like Brain Age making math fun... and that's something you would never think to hear in a sentence (unless you really did love math like I did).

Great story, my friend. Even though you can't enjoy the Wii to it's full extent, I'm sure you had as much fun watching your fiancee play as she did playing it ;-).
In any case, the Wii has nowhere to go now but up, I hope it brings your family many hours of fun.
