All Games Radio

24-7 Internet Radio For Gamers

Not sure if this has already been brought up I'm about 4 shows behind but here goes...

Scot was talking about how perhaps the Spiderman 3 reviewers had to rush through S3 to get their reviews up.

According Gamespots gaming podcast 'The Hotspot' (which is a very good show) in which Jeff Gerstmann was talking about how this is often the case with licensed games. Gamespot was unable to get the game far ahead of time and were forced to abide by the publishers rules. He talked about how people would be interested in this game and it was important to get the review up day of launch.

I respect his opinion and think there was little Gamespot could have done.
So yeah at least with Gamespot it seemed the review was a little rushed but the crew there still seem to stand by their opinion that its not a very good game.

The boss fights in the Spiderman games have always seemed kind of annoying to me. Especially ones hat involve a lot of swinging just to get into the fight.

I think theb est thing to do is look at reviews of games that you enjoyed and look at the reviewer. If he gave that game a good mark look at other reviews they've done. If your tastes seem to be in line with theirs it may be better to place more faith in a reviewer who has similar views to you.

I'm playing it now. Scot has talked a lot about how great the swinging is, which I agree with.

I wonder how he feels about the boss battles, which is a game staple he vocally hates. The ones is this game are pretty annoying. The One with Kraven/The Lizard especially. The final one with the Apocolypse gang is frustrating as well. Both of these happen with the black costume. Last he spoke about it, he hadn't gotten it yet.

This is the difference between playing a game for fun and rushing though a game for work ... different people have different opinions the best way to know if you're going to like a game is to play it for yourself.
