Well, Missile Command is up. Anyone buy it yet?

5 bucks isn't bad, especially taking the evolved mode into account, but I personally haven't bought it yet. I DL'ed the trial & have to say that it's pretty damned fun in both modes. The only Missile Command experience I ever had was with my Atari 2600 when I was a little kid. Having only the one button controller, I never knew that you'd be able to fire from multiple points. It added depth and strategy to the game that I'd previously been ignorant of. For some reason, I seem to remember hearing that there was some sort of co-op mode in the game, but that might just be the old man hearing things... I also looked at the achievements, which look rather creative and challenging for an arcade title (Clear a level with only 4 shots) Whereas, the evolved mode looks AWESOME, and is fun in it's own right, I'm finding myself drawn to the Retro mode. Might just be the rich history provided by Roy Awesome and AGI, might just be the nostalgia. I'm weird that way. Thing is, PacMan C.E. is rampant frustration enough right now, and I can tell that MC will be another OCD leaderboard chase for me, so I'm biding my time for now. Probably, I should just give in though. When the game ended abruptly at the third level, it was almost as though the trial game shouted at me "LET ME FINISH, LIKE I LET YOU FINISH!" How can I not answer that call?

I know what you mean, when I go into 'panic mode', with the stick I'm all over the place...Still fun though...Having a hard time getting even to 50.000 on the Evolved mode.

I picked it up. It's a good game and appropriately priced, unlike the majority of DLC on X-Box Live. I found it a little tougher timing shots in the newer mode for some reason, but the overall difficulty seems a bit toned down, so it balances well. And the classic mode is just that: classic.

For 400 points, with the addition of the HD version, I think it is well worth buying, so I got it. If only because of how much the Allgames community has become intertwined with the whole Missile Command saga.

missile command was one of those great early games that took something simple and made a great game out of it. Anyone could play it ( at least for a few levels ) and get enjoyment out of it. Funny those really old games have no real music to them just a siren or something. Classic, I'll buy it.

Sorry to hear, Virus. It's weird how nearly all of us have felt the tender sting of a Red Ring asspounding, yet we still pine for it in it's absence.

I'd love to say I could but my 360 is in transit back to me at the moment. I am having major withdrawal issues it has been like a month now with no 360.

I played the demo and I like the Retro one better.
