More ROCK BAND Songs Revealed! New Screenshots, Preview

In a hands-on preview of ROCK BAND on IGN's site, 4 more songs were revealed as well as an in depth preview of the game and new screen shots. It's coming along nicely and I can really say that my beloved Guitar Hero franchise is starting to pale in comparison. [Not that I'll ever abandon it or anything.]

Here's the new tunes:

  • "Suffragette City" from David Bowie [master track]
  • "Don't Fear the Reaper" from Blue Oyster Cult [master]
  • "Main Offender" from The Hives [master]
  • 'Mississippi Queen" from Mountain [cover]

Previously announced master tracks are "Won't Get Fooled Again" from The Who, "In Bloom" from Nirvana, and "Say it Ain't So" from Weezer, with a cover of "Paranoid" from Black Sabbath.

Guns and Roses' 'Welcome to the Jungle" that has been seen on the leaked gameplay video has NOT been locked down as a track in the game and was being used for demo purposes only at this point. However, I personally take it as a good chance that it will make it in (unless Guitar Hero snakes the rights first).

You can check out the complete IGN preview here and read about how we should expect over 100+ songs available as downloadable content! (I've heard that before...) Expect to hear a lot more about ROCK BAND (and Guitar Hero III) as E3 approaches! This will be a true "Battle of the Bands!"

ChanceNit, No official pricing has been set yet. HOWEVER I've heard from several sources that the Rock Band Bundle, which supposedly includes the game, microphone, drums and a wireless guitar, will run $199. This information seems to conincide with pricing listed on the Gamestop website.

Gamestop also lists ala cart pricing as follows:
Game = $60
Wireless guitar = $80 (PS3 is $60[?])
Drum set = $80
Microphone = $30

At these prices, the bundle is the obvious choice for those wanting to play all aspects of Rock Band since you are basically getting the game for free. Gamestop is taking pre-orders now for an 11/20/07 ship date (date is also unofficial at this point).

Is that Rock-a-way beach by the Ramones in the top screenshot?

This does look cool Shima. I like GH but this is the next level for this gametype. I can see the set up a Best Buy now.
