I took a trip to Vegas with my buddy last week to take in a couple of shows I've been wanting to see and while we were out there we visited a place that was about 10 blocks east of the Tropicana hotel called the Pinball Hall of Fame. I highly recommend stopping by there the next time you are out in Vegas. It's a retro games paradise in a way that LIVE Arcade will NEVER be able to match.

The Pinball Hall of Fame features over 120 pinball machines from 1946 to the present. There is no cost to enter the place and look. All the machines are refurbished and playable at the cost of 25 cents for most machines. The newest machines, like Spider-Man and Family Guy cost 75 cents for a 5-ball play or $2 for 3 plays. A great deal considering you could lose $5 on a blackjack hand in seconds!

I played nearly all the classics I remembered when I was a kid like Pinbot, Black Hole, Meteor, Ted Nugent, KISS, and Haunted House. I also played some of the more modern classics from the 90s that I used to enjoy like Twilight Zone, Star Trek:TNG, amd The Addams Family.
On top of all the pinball machines, they had a row of classic arcade games all in perfect working order and in their original cabnets including...Yep, CRAZY CLIMBER! Playing that along with TRON, BERZERK and Donkey Kong brought back some great memories. They even had the old 2-player black and white X's and O's football game with the big trackball. You know the one!
Anyway, I think I had a better time blowing $20 there than I did on any of the craps and blackjack tables I played on the strip. Support this guys place when in Vegas. You don't find places like this anymore.
For a little more of the history of the place and the guy who put it together, check out this link http://www.pinballhall.org/page.aspx?p=152. It's a great read.
The official site and complete listing of games at the Pinball Hall of Fame is here: http://www.pinballmuseum.org/

On a side note, for those who know that I'm a big Broadway guy, I saw Monty Python's SPAMALOT at the Wynn and Mama Mia at Mandaly Bay. Both were excellent shows, very funny and entertaining. Highly recommend! Also, I stayed at Bill's on the strip right across from Ceasars and Bally's. Cheap prices but great rooms. I could resist taking my 360 along. Check out their flatscreens! Heh-heh!
