America's Video Game Expo: Opening Ceremonies (Philly 11/2/07 )

Because Bobby didn't want to go this year I thought I would represent the allgames site there and try to get some contacts for the show.

Day 1.

Day one started as bad as I think it possibly could of. People ready to enter at the opening hours show up at 3pm but no one was allowed to enter till they fixed a problem they had. Apparently a EA/Intel Crysis pc room that was put into the back of a Mac-Truck’s cab had a flat tire and they could not get some of the computers to run. Well as we sat there with convention center people telling us that we could go in 30 minutes (every 30 minutes) we began to get bored and restless. The 1up booth had to come out and give everyone free issues of the latest EGM and GFW magazine to keep us occupied till 4:45pm when we could go in and start the festivities. Now since we were finally allowed in we just walked around till we found something we liked and sat & played while we heard some of the strangest techno music playing in the background from the EA/Intel Truck. I personally went and played some CoD4 in the LAN area just to see the story mode and how well it played. Afterwards I got up and looked around at the UT3, Quake 4, TF2, and Crysis playable computers.

While I was adventuring I came across the area where the PMS clan was challenge people for prizes in video games like GH2, GoW, and Quake 4 for memory for computers. Apparently some computer parts manufacturer was paying for them to be they’re advertising their product. PMS (Insert name here) had twister, which was basically Simon says on a twister map with the PMS girls telling you what to do on a microphone while they broadcasted the outcomes over the loudspeaker. PMS tended to make the guys give each other wet willies and spank each other while on the mat. If you won at twister you received a 512mb stick of memory for your pc

That was it for day one. At about 8pm they started to close down while bringing in the Rock Band stage for tomorrows festivities.. Yeah day one kind of sucked.
