AGI 2007 : My Top 10

As 2007 comes to a close, I thought I'd take a look back at the 2007 and point out all things that I liked about AGI.

10. Scot hates the PS3 - This was hilarious, at least to me. Scot was basically labeled a 360 fanboy, or better yet an Xbot, for stating his opinion ("the PS3 doesn't have games, I don't think you should buy it"). And yet, almost every single time a PS3 fanboy or owner called in to defend the PS3 by the end of the call they were agreeing with Scot! This went on for weeks, with Scot taking on any and all fanboys and ultimately standing victorious. Scot was right, drink up!

9. Redmond and Jessica, are they or aren't they ? - Was Redmond cheating on his wife with Jessica ? Of course they both deny that anything was happening, but let's look at what's happened so far : Redmond gives Jessica back rubs every chance he gets (and Jessica never says "No"). Scot has walked in on them at AllGames Studio West when everybody else had left, and they had (secretly?) decided to stay behind. Jessica is always mentioning how Redmond sent her a text message or even sent her a game. Yes, the evidence is inconclusive, but there is enough there to suggest that something could be happening. The flames of this mystery will burn bright well into 2008.

8. justin.tv - When AGI moved to AllGames Studio West, the web cam was sorely missed. That is until justin.tv came to the rescue and not only gave us a web cam for during the show, but also a life cam that gave us little peaks into the off hours lives of mainly Scot, but sometimes Mayor Young and Jessica as well.

7. Operator11 - Although most people were upset when the AllGames "affiliation" with Operator11 was announced, I was very pleasantly surprised. I definitely like that Operator11 sort of turns AGI into an interactive TV show.

6. The Interviews - This year gave us a whole bunch of great interviews, but among the best were Brooklyn from the Frag Dolls, Dan Hsu from EGM, Jessica Chobot from IGN, Mr Awesome vs Twin Galaxies, Walter Day, VentHacker, and of course DallasDolphin (Ravens sister).

5. ravensdolphin - 2007 was the year of the dolphin. ravensdolphin. raven went from being an annoying caller in 2006 to a podcast mogul in 2007. His TechandGames podcast was at one point second only to AGI in the Operator11 ratings. Not content with just that, raven formed the babykickers group, and launched the cartooncast. Of course I don't actually listen to any of his podcasts, but then again with all the ravensdolphin sound clips that Scot plays, I don't think it's really necessary to. Still not convinced? Well just remember that ravensdolphin not only cracks women in half, but he also get them to pay his rent simply by having sex with them!

4. DerrickH - If this was basketball, DerrickH would get the best 6th man award, he's the player that comes off the bench to give his team a boost. DerrickH is too funny. Whether he's calling in as someone else ("Nintendo westside!", "Scot from the future"...), or making smart ass comments in chat, few people can claim to be as funny as DerrickH. He turns a good show into a great show.

3. The Music - "4 strength 4 stam, a real leather belt ?" I actually find myself singing community mixes as if they were top billboard hits. From "4 strength 4 stam", to "Balls of steel" to the ravensdolphin "how to make babies/freak me" song, the community mixes rocked in 2007. When is the best of AGI CD coming out ? I'd buy that.

2. When it all comes together - Yes, they've had some bad days (especially when the let Scot do a show by himself) but when it all falls into place , it makes for a great show (dare I say, the single greatest podcast of our time ;-) ). If I could only listen to one podcast per day, this would be it. It's not a single thing that I could point to that makes this a great podcast, I guess the whole is greater than the sum of it's parts.

1. Jessica does Anal - Jaw dropping. I literally sat and listened with my mouth WIDE open staring blankly at the screen. I found myself unable to form coherent sentences for several minutes to come, and I was at work! But, the funny thing is, I don't even like anal sex! Yet, the fact that Jessica does, that somehow does something for me. Well, me and every single person in chat, because the world of AllGames would revolve around this topic for the next 2 weeks to come. Where were you when JFK was shot ? That's last gen. Where were you when Jessica said she does anal ? That's next gen!

I also have agree that Bensaki killing the Justin.tv laptop deserves an honorable mention, But I also think Curtis, Scots bare ass, and lastly Jess "flashing the OP11 cam" do as well
